Charla Cunningham is a nationally recognized Licensed Marriage Family Therapist (LMFT) & Registered Drama Therapist (RDT). Her groundbreaking work integrating therapy with theater and play for children with special needs, has been honed by years of training and experience. She holds a Masters of Arts Degree in Counseling Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies, and a Masters of Fine Arts Degree in Acting from the American Conservatory Theater. She has practiced child and family therapy in the San Francisco-Bay Area, where she was a founding faculty member of the Oak Hill School, and in Portland, Oregon where she practiced as a child and family therapist at the Hearing and Speech Institute / Artz Center for Developmental Health before founding Playful Intervention (LLC).

Kira Batcheller Pre-School Teacher/LCSW Intern. Kira has been on staff as our Senior Therapy Assistant for the past four years. In addition, she has just completed her graduate studies degree at Portland State’s Social Workers Program.  She has worked as a pre-school teacher, home-school teacher, and is a gifted professional actress and graphic artist. Kira runs our Parent-Child Preschool program under the clinical supervision of Charla Cunningham LMFT
